The National Association of REALTORS brought its consumer advertising campaign to life this week at the REALTORS Legislative Meetings. Agents and brokers stepped in front of cameras to record short GIFs and video clips for social media, showing off the many roles they play beyond just showing homes.
The campaign, called "More Than Opening Doors," aims to highlight how real estate professionals act as negotiators, advisors, therapists, and community experts. At the event, attendees were invited to a studio setup where they could act out different scenarios. Some pretended to juggle paperwork, others mimed calming down a nervous client, and a few acted out the classic "handing over the keys" moment.
The resulting assets are meant to be shared on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Organizers hope the lighthearted clips will help humanize agents and show the public that the job involves far more than unlocking a front door. One participant noted that the GIFs capture the energy and problem-solving that happens daily but rarely gets seen by buyers and sellers.
The initiative is part of a broader push to reshape public perception of the industry. By focusing on the human side of the transaction, the campaign tries to build trust and remind consumers that a good agent brings value that a website or app simply cannot replace. The clips from the event will be added to a library for local associations and individual agents to use in their own marketing efforts.
