A single-family house in Plainfield, sold for $395,000, tops the list of notable residential property transactions across Will County over the past week. The sale highlights a mix of suburban homes changing hands as buyers continue to seek space and value in the southwest Chicago suburbs.

The Plainfield property, located on a quiet street, offers four bedrooms and three bathrooms, according to listing records. It sits on a larger lot, which likely appealed to families looking for outdoor room. The final price came in close to the asking amount, reflecting steady interest in that neighborhood.

Other strong sales in the county included a brick ranch in Naperville that went for $375,000 and a two-story home in Bolingbrook that closed at $360,000. Both properties had been on the market for less than three weeks, a sign that well-priced homes are still moving quickly. In New Lenox, a three-bedroom townhome sold for $289,000, making it one of the more affordable deals in the weekly roundup.

Real estate agents in the area note that inventory remains tight, especially for homes under $400,000. Sellers who price their homes realistically are still seeing multiple offers, though not as many as during the peak of the spring season. Mortgage rates have eased slightly from their summer high, which has helped keep some first-time buyers in the market.

The full list of top transactions also includes a home in Mokena that sold for $340,000 and a smaller property in Crest Hill that closed at $215,000. County records show that most of these deals were financed with conventional loans, but a few were all-cash purchases.

For buyers still looking, the next few weeks could offer more choices as fall listings typically increase after Labor Day. But competition is expected to remain for move-in ready homes in the most popular school districts.
