Squire Patton Boggs has strengthened its Real Estate Practice Group by hiring partners Rachel Kerr and James Eddowes in Birmingham. The two lawyers arrive from Gowling WLG, where they built a reputation for handling complex property work across several sectors.
Their practice focuses on advising investors, developers, and private equity clients on large scale real estate transactions. That includes acquisitions, disposals, development projects, and joint ventures. The firm said the additions reflect growing demand for legal support on major property deals in the region and beyond.
Kerr and Eddowes each bring years of experience guiding clients through high value matters. Their client list has included institutional investors and funds active in commercial and residential development. The move adds depth to the Birmingham office, which has been expanding its real estate capabilities in recent months.
A spokesperson for the firm noted that the real estate market remains active despite broader economic uncertainty. Clients need lawyers who understand both the legal and commercial sides of transactions, the spokesperson added. The new partners are expected to work closely with the firm's wider real estate and corporate teams across the UK.
The appointments take effect immediately.
