A Milan architecture firm has unveiled a new headquarters that challenges conventional ideas about the workplace. The project, known as RG27, spans 5,000 square metres and reimagines the office as a living cultural hub rather than a closed corporate box.
At the centre of the design is a landscaped courtyard that brings daylight and greenery into the heart of the building. A glass bridge connects different sections of the complex, encouraging movement and informal encounters between teams. Flexible workspaces replace fixed desks, allowing the layout to adapt as projects and needs change.
The building also includes dedicated design laboratories where research and experimentation can take place alongside daily work. These spaces are intended to blur the line between thinking and making, giving architects and designers room to test ideas in a hands-on way.
The overall approach treats the office as a place for creativity and exchange, not just administration. By opening the interior to nature and mixing work areas with shared cultural spaces, the studio positions its headquarters as part of the city's broader creative life. The project reflects a growing interest among architects in turning workplaces into environments that people actually want to spend time in, where collaboration happens naturally and the building itself becomes a tool for design thinking.
