Federal Home Loan Bank Topeka has awarded $4 million in grants to 14 tribes and tribal housing entities. The funding will support home repairs, housing construction, infrastructure work, and homebuyer assistance.
The 2026 awards were announced on Oct. 20. The money comes through the bank's Native American Housing Initiatives Grants Program. That program supports affordable housing and community development across Colorado, Kansas, and other states in the bank's district.
The grants are meant to address housing needs in tribal communities, where access to affordable homes and basic infrastructure can be limited. Funds can be used for a range of purposes, from fixing existing homes to building new ones and helping families buy their first house.
The announcement reflects an ongoing effort to direct resources toward tribal housing organizations that work on the ground in these communities. The bank did not provide a full breakdown of how the $4 million will be divided among the 14 recipients.
The Native American Housing Initiatives Grants Program is one of several ways the bank supports housing development in the region it serves.
