Corporate and real estate lawyer Brett Merritt rejoins McAfee & Taft

McAfee & Taft, the largest law firm in Oklahoma, has announced that Brett P. Merritt is back with the firm. Merritt, who focuses on corporate and real estate law, brings a dozen years of experience working with businesses, private investors, investment groups, and private equity firms. His practice covers complex transactions, corporate governance, and regulatory issues.

Merritt previously worked at McAfee & Taft before leaving for another opportunity. Now he is returning to the firm, where he will continue advising clients on deals and legal structures. His background includes handling mergers and acquisitions, entity formation, and commercial real estate matters. Colleagues at the firm note that his return strengthens their ability to serve clients with complicated business needs.

The firm's leadership expressed enthusiasm about having Merritt back on the team. They pointed to his track record of guiding clients through high-stakes negotiations and his practical approach to problem solving. Merritt also works with individual owners on succession planning and day to day corporate issues.

Merritt said he is glad to rejoin the firm and looks forward to working with the team again. He added that the firm's reputation for client service and its depth of resources made the decision easy. His return is effective immediately, and he will be based in the firm's Oklahoma City office.
