A new theatrical work examines what it means to leave one place and arrive at another. "REAL ESTATE," written and choreographed by Isa Spector, opens at The Barn at Lee with a focus on the ways people carry themselves through transition.
The two-person show follows characters who are, in Spector's words, constantly moving. That movement is both literal and figurative. The play looks at the sale of a home, the packing of belongings, and the emotional weight that comes with uprooting a life. At the same time, it studies how bodies shift through space, how gesture and posture reveal what words often cannot.
Spector built the piece around the idea that a house is never just a building. It holds memory, routine, and the traces of everyone who passed through it. When those rooms empty out, something else takes their place, a kind of unsettled motion that the performers express through dance and dialogue.
The production marks the start of a new collaboration with The Barn at Lee, a venue known for supporting intimate, experimental work. With only two performers on stage, the show relies on precise timing and physical trust. Early audiences have responded to its quiet intensity and its refusal to offer easy answers.
"REAL ESTATE" runs as part of the venue's current season. Tickets and scheduling details are available through the theater's box office.
